Glee Star Dianna Agron Lands Role In Alexander McQueen Play

Glee actress Dianna Agron is swapping the small screen for a UK stage where she is going to make her debut within a play about the life of designer Alexander McQueen.

This American actress, who played Quinn Fabray within the musical TV show, will play a woman obsessed with this designer, who fully commited suicide in 2010.

Agron, 28, tweeted her excitement regarding the play: "Feels so wonderful to finally have the ability to say... this is occurring. #McqueenThePlay"

A two-hour finale regarding Glee is being aired the united states on Friday night.

Bluestone 42 star Stephen Wight will certainly play the title role in McQueen at St James Theatre in Greater london from 12 May.

The cast also incorporates former EastEnders actress Tracy-Ann Oberman who'll play McQueen's friend and also fellow designer Isabella Blow.

The play, by James Phillips, is set on just one night in London while Agron's character breaks into McQueen's house to steal a dress but eventually ends up criss-crossing London with him.

McQueen, who was known as Lee to family and friends, grew up within the city's East End.

He was the son of a taxi cab driver and left school at 16 however quickly rose through the fashion sector to become one of the world's leading designers.

He was 40 while he killed himself the day before his mom's funeral after struggling with depression.

Blow killed herself within 2007.

The fashion house which bears McQueen's name remains hugely influential and also the Duchess of Cambridge's intricately decorated wedding gown was designed by Sarah Burton who became creative director on the fashion house Alexander McQueen after his death.

An exhibition of McQueen's own creations is now open at the Victoria And Albert Museum in London.
