Rock Legend Phil Collins Provides Davy Crockett's Musket Ball Pouch To Alamo

Rock musician Phil Collins came back to San Antonio Tuesday with the 1st of two truckloads regarding his Alamo artifacts, which includes a musket ball pouch, believed  to own belonged to Davy Crockett.

Collins, former singer and drummer from the band Genesis, has agreed to donate his private assortment of 204 items for display in the Alamo. Tuesday he brought 5 crates, which were unloaded from the cargo truck.

Speaking towards media, Collins gave his support into a drive to raise several million dollars for the visitors center where his collection would be on permanent display in the historic site, that is owned by the state.

“We need contributions to construct the center, ” he said.

Texas Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson said it will eventually likely take at least five years to increase funds for the centre and design and create it. It's likely which the new center, whose location hasn't been determined, would likely fee admission. The state's 4. 2-acre Alamo grounds are liberated to the public.
