Creator Shonda Rhimes renewed her contract together with ABC studios through May 2018 on Tuesday, and announced the newest show "How to Get Away with Murder".
The deal means Rhimes’ production house "Shondaland" will continue to be with ABC studios until 2018, as well as any content that produces. Rhimes is the director of the medical drama "Grey’s Anatomy", which is within its tenth season, and the Washington D. C. -based drama "Scandal", which usually just wrapped up its 3rd season.
Rhimes and also ABC announced a newest Shondaland show Tuesday called "How to Get Away with Murder", starring Viola Davis as being a brilliant law professor looking to solve the mystery with her students. This show will air at 10 p. m. upon Thursdays, creating a complete night of Rhimes’ shows.
Betsy Beers runs Shondaland with Rhimes and is also an executive producer on both "Grey’s Anatomy" and "Scandal."
