With a $250, 000 prize threatened, three very distinct contestants stepped up to the scale upon Tuesday night's finale to determine if they had lost what it could take to acquire the grand prize along with the title of The biggest Loser.
In a season that celebrated 2nd chances, finalist Bobby Saleem, twenty eight, epitomized the theme with the 15th edition with the NBC weight-loss antagonism. Saleem – whose struggles with his sexuality inspired his trainer Bob Harper to produce his own public declaration – have been eliminated in week nine, but the legal professional from Chicago earned a spot in the top eight since the biggest at-home loser of all the so-called eliminated contestants up to that point in this season. The pool of competitioner included American Idol's Ruben Studdard, exactly who had already returned once earlier in the season amid debate.

Arriving second was David, who lost 222 lbs .. and now weighs about 187 lbs., and Bobby came up in third having a weight loss involving 188 lbs. to now weigh 170 pounds.
"I was shocked, " Rachel Frederickson told PEOPLE backstage soon after being named season 15th champ. "I came here to achieve back my life, and I did exactly that. I have found that proud, confident girl which has so much respect intended for herself."
Winning the at-home winning prize after being sent home on the ranch was Tumi Oguntala, a 41-years-old brand strategist through Clifton Park, New York., who successfully lost an overall of 175 lbs .. to stand about the scale Tuesday weighing 144 lbs.
"I begun this journey an obese woman, as well as I'm standing right here happy and nutritious, " Tumi told PEOPLE. "I could not believe it. I simply started crying."
