“Candid Camera” meets “Jackass” within Katy Perry’s loopy new video for “Birthday” through her latest dance music record, “Prism.”

Ditching the very sexy persona appointed in most of her videos, Perry claims she “went undercover, ” within heavy makeup, to portray “the five worst birthday celebration entertainers ever.”

This video, directed by Mark Klasfeld and also Danny Lockwood, opens with brief interviews along with Perry, in character being a portly Jewish comic, a fading Nevada sexpot, a crusty creature trainer, a terrifying clown (is generally there another kind? ) and the clueless fairy princess or queen before showing snippets of what seem to be genuinely pranked parties where she appeared without revealing her actual identity.
